2012 was a good year. Let's take a look back... I met new people and at the same time I realized how much my current friends mean to me. But that's not the only thing... I turned 18 and I finally feel like I get to know myself and the world around me a little better. I discovered, grew up, something like that. Besides the sentimental experience I can remember a lot of great parties, summernights and crazy weekends. 2012 was absolutely a year of fun. Thinking back about my trip to France and Lowlands still makes me smile. A year ago I found fear, fear for the unknown, fear to let go. Now I'm full of passion to make my plans and dreams reality, even though I hate the fact we must leave another year behind. I'm bad in leaving things behind. But let's take a look forward... I'm planning some trips to Paris, Spain and Ireland and I'll probably move to the other side of Europe. Exciting, very exciting and sometimes challenging, maybe. Enough about that, I'm dying to hear about your plans! I'm sure 2013 will be our year and I wish the best for all of you.
We visited the exhibition 'Blue Jeans' in the Centraal Museum of Utrecht yesterday. Blue jeans is an iconic street symbol that can be found in almost every wardrobe. The exhibition shows various themes by renowned artists, includes Levi's, Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela and Yves Saint Laurent. Designers such as Iris van Herpen and Viktor & Rolf have also been asked to create a unique design to accompany the main spearheads for The Centraal Museum. At the end of the day we were asked to create our own pair of blue jeans. I made myself a pair of hotpants!
Sadly enough, we're almost at the end of Christmas... The most wonderful time of the year! Last Christmas was all about friends, family, food (oh dear, lots of food), presents and wine... How was yours? I went to The Hobbit today. That unexpected journey was really unexpected, but above all fascinating. Can't wait for the next part! Will you excuse me now, my dinner is waiting! May love, health and hope be with all of you.
It’s supposed to be the last day of the
earth, isn’t it? At 12 o’clock I was sitting behind my window, waiting for
something to happen, but it didn’t. I personally don’t think the earth will
actually end. But I do believe ‘something’ will change. For me it’s just the perfect chance to throw a
good party. Just like we did a few weeks ago. One of my friends recorded the
whole night, as you can see in the super hilarious video! Someone bungled red
wine over the white pillows. It was hilarious and awkward at the same time. Sad
truth. We had a wonderful weekend after all. I’ve got a feeling that tonight is
going to be a good night!
Wednesday I went to the OnePiece launch party in Amsterdam at Club AIR. Dancers, food, lights, music, beer and vodka... There was a pretty good party going on there! Everyone was dressed in an OnePiece jumpsuit. So comfy! Click here to check out more photos from the launch party. What's you favorite OnePiece piece?
I was one of the lucky ones who was invited to the Glamour ladies night at the Diesel flagship store in Amsterdam. We were treated with Martini cocktails, cotton candy, 30% shopping discount and loads of other food. At the tarot reading and roulette table we were able to test our luck and I was very lucky with winning a beautiful pair of Diesel jeans at my choice! I went home with the biggest smile of all. Curious which one I picked? Keep reading my blog!
Tuesday. A cold breeze and a trickle sunshine. The perfect day to visit the bed-in press day from Fuse Communication. Sipping coffee and eating chocolate while looking at warm and cozy sweaters, shiny dresses, high heels and hot shorts, they got it all...
This is probably my last lazy Sunday. Exams are calling in about a week! Hate. It. So I spent the day with loud music from Lowlands (hello, homesickness and goosebumps) and lots of tea. Sometimes I wish the clock stopped ticking and the earth turning. However, the blouse is from my grandma. She gave it to me at my grandpa's birthday last week and I totally love it. We watched videos from the 70's and ate grandma's homemade soup with croissants.
Last Thursday Yara from This Chick's Got Style invited me to the special ECCO x NSMBL event. We were treated like princesses! A make-up touch by M.A.C, feet massages by AVEDA, fruit drinks, a little DIY stand with leather and admiring shoes in every corner. The best part of the night was meeting lovely ladies Chantal from Cocorosa, Cindy from COTTDS and Rosanna from Billierose. After a long chat we went to the Scandinavian photobooth. Guess what? We won ECCO shoes for best photo! Lucky us! I think we all experienced the ultimate Christmas feeling after receiving our goodiebag. Yara, thanks for being who you are. Watch the videoreport here (and spot me)!
It's Saturday, finally! Time to tell you something about the fact that I went to the share vintage & taste cocktails event a while ago. Which was at one of the most beautiful locations I'd ever been: on the 10th floor in the Westcord Fashion Hotel. Hello, sunset in Amsterdam! We all had to bring old I-never-wear-this-and-this-has-been-in-my-wardrobe-since-ages-now pieces. The idea was to swap our clothes with each other! This felt like a little candy shop, a place where you can take anything you want without payment. How cute is that English flag top I picked (first photo)? I know right!
I discovered a new website with loads of I'm-craving-to-buy-this treasures. But, there's more... It's an online platform where the best parts from Polyvore, Fashiolista and your favorite brands are coming together. How does it work? Make a profile trough Facebook, 'heart' items you love and you're done creating your own 'fashion heartbeat'! Being inspired was never that easy, right? I already gave my heart to Jeffrey Campbell's, Dr. Martens, Cheap Monday and a few bags from French Connection. Visit Stylight now and get inspired yourself!
Last Thursday it was time... Time for the Vogue's Fashion Night Out in Amsterdam! Everything in between fashion was present: couture, cocktails, designers and music. What a night! There were different fashion shows and designers such as Iris van Herpen and Erik Frenken showing their new collections. We also went to the vintage pop-up shop, where you can find the most beautiful treasures from Chanel, Alexander Wang and Givenchy. Streetstyle photographer Otto van den Toorn made the pictures below.
We met designer Jan Taminiau and walked with his - ridiculous high - shoes at the mini-catwalk (see photo above!). What an experience! After that we went to the FOAM / Unseen Studio for another shoot. Balloons all over the place!
We also met designer Bibi van der Velden. We tried some of her pieces on and she captured our moment with her camera. Besides that, we ate the most delicious sushi and chocolate I've ever tasted at the chocolate fountain from Australian Homemade. At the end of the night we received a handkerchief from Tommy Hilfiger. And this was only a little impression of the night. There was so much... Too much to do! I already looking forward to next year.
Throwing trees in the campfire, dance around with a bottle of champagne and hitch-hiking to the big city... I already miss summer (did you noticed autumn starts in only 10 days?)! Last night I saw Pirates of the Caribbean again. Haha it made me think about a holiday in France two years ago. One night a friend and I pretended that our canoe turned into the Black Pearl. He was supposed to be Johnny and I was Keira. We sung songs like 'drink up me 'earties, yo ho, yo ho'. A good night for sure. I wouldn't bother sailing the oceans with Captain Jack Sparrow. Enough about that. I bought new items last weekend! I'm showing you only two items, the rest comes later. First, my long-expected Jack Daniels tee and a new bracelet-with-spikes-thing. What do you think? Would I have been that kind of pirate who drunk JD-whiskey instead of rum?
After some serious rainy days the sun came out. I'm enjoying the last-late-summer-in-September-days on my rooftop and on sunny days like these I love to eat salad. This is my all time favorite: melon, dried ham, rocket, walnuts, mozzarella and just a little balsamic. Very simple, but very delicious! Bon appétit!
