Last Friday was really fun.. With blogger Nicole from Coco Gold we were invited to the Young But Successful VIP event in Amsterdam. YBS is a magazine full of new and fresh talent around the world of fashion. There were different shows from Oye Swimwear, Nina Jarebrink, Hanne Block and many more. Who says swimsuits are only for older women? I love them! All of the collections were so elegant.. There was also a men's wear collection (can I please take them to my candy shop?). And then there was a funny photobooth, a candy corner with red velvet cupcakes, wine and lolly's and a fabulous fashion lottery. Guess what? I won a bracelet from N.Y.M.P! Me happy. What did you do last weekend?
Fashion, art, literature and lifestyle. Four words, representing a brand new magazine, F.A.L.L. Magazine. Nicole from Coco Gold and I went to the launch party last Wednesday. We drunk a couple of Grand Marniers and listened to the swinging band. Can you believe the founder, Milou Verbeke, is only 24 years old? One day she woke up and decided to make her dream come true.. Amazing, isn't it? I'd recommend to check out this newborn reading material (you can buy it in several concept stores for €9,95).
My day started with an early and totally voluntarily wake-up call. Yes, you can call me sporting.. I went swimming! At 10 a.m. I took a fresh plunge into a cold pool of water. After that, I went to the reopening of H&M and the grand store opening of ONLY in Utrecht. Wake-up call from me to you: go and see it! It's time for soup, baguettes and tea now. (Photo was made by JUTKA&RISKA during Amsterdam Fashion Week.)
I always feel like Macklemore when I go to the thrift shop. I'm like 'dressed in all pink, my shoes are green and I'm draped in a leopard mink. Those moccasins someone else's been walking in. I'm taking your grandpa's style. Velour jumpsuit and some house slippers, brown leather jacket that I found. One man's trash, that's another man's come-up. Thank your granddad for donating that plaid shirt. I'll take those flannel zebra sweaters, second-hand. I'm in this big ass coat, from that thrift shop down the road'. Just like that! I didn't bought green shoes or a brown leather jacket, but I do bought a baroque and burgundy blouse, a denim skirt, a clutch for my laptop and a leather swimsuit. I can rest in peace for now.
Black to simple or simple in black. After a week full of party's (read: sprinkling glitters, chopsticks, laser lights, garlands and tracks from the red lipstick on our empty wineglasses) it's now time for a lazy weekend. I'm hanging on the couch with my family and cozy cardigan. Funny fact about my outfit: got it all from my grandma's wardrobe. She's so generous!
I spent all my money on buying festival tickets and somehow I always find what I want when I'm broke. Sounds familiar? Cropped tops, swimsuits, hot pants and flowers, they are more than welcome! Yes, my biggest inspiration is the sun, even tough summer is not yet to come. This collage is only a glimpse of my wishlist. I'm screwed.
Maybe you'll now understand why I was so greedy at the sample sale of JUTKA&RISKA during Amsterdam Fashion Week. Spikes, diamonds, Barbies, silver and gold, cupcakes and hot pink.. I think you get my point. It was a very inspiring and long day. It was snowing like crazy (we were wearing high heels and our toes turned blue) and the train crashed on our way home. Just like that. So we spent two hours in a dark train with freezing toes. Luckily a hot chocolate and a bag full of purchases was waiting for us at home..
Just received my newest eye-catchers, oh my, I'm in love. Glitters. Silver, sparkling glitters. I was looking for Jeffrey Campbell shoes since ages and these are the perfect look-a-likes. (Cuba shoes from Nelly.com.)
